I love the new look for outside seating. I ate here 2 years ago and the outside seating is bigger and shaded now. The food was good and the wait staff was very accommodating to our group. Can't wait to visit FL again and to stop by. Can't beat the view either it's great to be able to have a great breakfast looking out across the water.

This place is great! My husband and I were recently on vacation in Flagler Beach and found ourselves at Java Joint for breakfast twice. The food is pretty damn good (fantastic hollandaise!), the lattes are great, and the waitstaff is some of the friendliest I've encountered anywhere. If you're in the area, this is the place to go for brunch! It's also incredibly inexpensive, not crowded, and the view can't be beat if you're sitting outside.

This was our second visit to Java Joint. The first we just loved the food, service and view. We just went again and had a different experience. My husband and I both ordered a cup of clam chowder. I swear it came out of a CHUNKY can, very disappointed. He had a hamburger, it was good, but forgot the cheese, had to send it back. I had the Greek quesadilla it had spinach and mozzarella in it. That's all! It should have had feta cheese. We won't be back.

Great little place. The deck has a great view of the ocean. The breakfast is good I recommend the scramblers, I will be back again.

Pretty good food and coffee. Can't beat the view. Friendly service. The Google map shows it on the south side but its on the north side of Flagler Beach.

Perfect combination of great food, good prices, very attentive service and outstanding location. We can't believe we've never been here before. It's located in Flagler Beach which is 5 minute ride from my moms condo in Palm Coast. It's right on A1a across the street from one of the public beaches but a good distance north of the "main drag" of Flagler. Firstly, the staff is strikingly friendly and helpful. Everyone seems to be enjoying their work. There doesn't seem to be one server assigned to your table because all of them including the owner are involved in serving you. The menu is simple, but this is a good thing. Many breakfast places suffer from too many options which are in reality just variations on overcooked eggs, greasy meat and at least two heavy starches. Here not so. I ordered their blackened shrimp and grits with an added side of poached eggs and sautéed spinach. This was easily the best food I've had in a restaurant in months. I usually dislike this dish; I favor grits that are cooked plain with little or no seasoning so it serves as a canvas to the eggs, bacon, sausage etc that comes with it. Plus more often than not a the shrimp is usually a gross rubbery mess. Not so here! The shrimp was perfectly cooked--sweet, perky, quick seared to just this side of doneness and nicely spiced with a (seemingly) homemade blackening mix. The grits were creamy but not overly so, topped with REAL sharp cheddar cheese. The sautéed spinach paired well with the shrimp, and the eggs sent it over the top--poached to rich-oozing-yolk perfection. I asked for hot sauce, and one of the servers brought out 4 kinds. I selected a locally made vinegar based sauce called Bob's. This stuff sent the dish roaring into the brunch heavens. Did I mention the ambiance? We seated ourselves on the patio with a unrivaled view of the light surf on an absolutely glorious day.

Ordered the eggs, grits and toast, multiple orders of espresso. The breakfast was great and hit the spot. The espresso was tasty and will come back just for the espresso. The only down side was the half and half came out of these tiny plastic tubs and somewhat ruined the taste of the fresh espresso. Fresh cream is better. The view of the Atlantic Ocean can't be matched. The waitress was very attentive and made sure I was well taken care of, coming back many times to be sure I had everything I needed. Very good plus. The 2nd visit the expresso machine was down and their regular coffee was typical American style "no flavor" watered down. Was disappointed. However, Ashley was an awesome waitress and did a bang up job taking care of our table. This place has all the makings of a great Java place if they made sure their eq was always up and running and the cream was fresh. To serve "preservative cream" with fresh expresso is a contradiction.

Great ambience, great breakfast, great service. Visit Palm Coast annually to visit family, will make this a must on future trips. We brought our 8 month old daughter and staff was very accommodating. We had the mexi breakfast burrito, pancakes, and French toast. All delicious and coffee excellent.

Great spot with wifi and beautiful view. Unfortunately, disposable plastic is given to guests, even to those who are staying to eat. Plastic is destroying the beautiful ocean that this restaurant overlooks. This review has nothing to do with the delicious food. It is about the business practice of using disposable plastic to save time and money. Too many Flagler business owners are comfortable with this. Pls take ownership and use real cups and ramekins. This article helps paint a great picture about how serious of a problem plastic is for our oceans: plasticoceans.net/index.… For my muffin that I took to go, it was put in a Styrofoam container and then in a plastic bag with a bunch of napkins. All I needed was it to be wrapped in a napkin. I appreciate that they want to be clean and to offer good customer service, but it's not necessary to use so much plastic and packaging just for one muffin. For the breakfast of eggs that I stayed there to eat, I was given a disposable plastic cup for my water and disposable ramekins for sour cream and salsa. The staff there are extremely nice and so is the owner. This is not personal. It's just about taking care of our planet.

Best food we had during our entire vacation. Crab Benedict was perfect! The grits were amazing. Walnut pancakes were delicious. The servers were exactly what you think should be at an ocean front restaurant, laid back, kinda hippy, surfers! They were extremely helpful and nice. Don't change a thing!

Wonderful service! Great dolphin watching! Kid friendly with great coffee and food. What more could you ask for?

We used to love coming to this place but it has really gone downhill after what I believe was a change in ownership. The service is quite poor and the final time we went we were ignored at our table for 15 minutes before departing. Also, what's up with all the Steelers junk?

Gorgeous view, but unbelievably slow service and only offer regular or decaf coffee, which I thought was odd considering the name. Food was cold, service was friendly, but again so slow. My first visit it was quite busy so I chalked up the slow service to that; however I've been back a few times since and it's been as slow or even slower when only a couple tables. If you want breakfast expect to wait a hour for food and it most likely will be cold. It's a shame became its such a gorgeous view.

Good food. I had a large banana pancake. It was so good. The bananas were actually mixed in the batter. My hubby had the French toast with multigrain bread. He enjoyed. My daughter had a bagel, biscuit, grits and bacon. She ate those grits might quick. The coffee and mimosa was good. I must put this on my list next time I visit. Nice view. Staff was polite and happy folks.

Completely disappointing. Everything started out ok. We were a party of 6 and seated relatively quickly. The food smelled great and we were excited to order. We ordered a combination of coffees and mimosas. The mimosas were excellent, coffee was decent, but the beans didn't taste very fresh. I'm a huge Benedict fan so my choice was easy, but everything on the menu looked good. After we placed our order is when things went sour. The place was quite warm. Yes it's Florida. I get it, it's hot everywhere, but it really becomes an issue when drinking hot coffee, and unbearable when waiting for your food to come out for over 45 minutes. None of the waitstaff seemed to notice we were missing food. Then the table next to us that sat down at least 15 min later got their food. We were starting to get a little ticked off. Again the waitstaff took no notice of our lack of food or our grumpy faces. They wouldn't even stop by to fill our empty coffee mugs despite our best efforts to get their attention. The table who received their food before us did take notice and had to point it out to their waitress. They seemed to be regulars and were horrified at our experience. We finally received our food and it was good. That's the only reason I didn't give them one star on this review. The hollandaise sauce was good, eggs poached perfectly. My only complaint about the food would be the home fries. They were dry, probably frozen. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food as well. They were made aware of our long wait and lack of attention. Our waitress seemed to go missing for the second half of our meal and the staff was made aware of that as well. There were some apologies here and there, but they were all quick and in passing. No one really seemed to care. That became very apparent when at the end of the meal no manager or lead waitstaff came to speak with us, nothing was comped or taken off the bill, and to top it all off we had to wait another 10-15 min for someone to come around and take the check. The food was good, but I'll never be back.

Very friendly staff; it had a "welcome home" kind of feel & service was excellent. Try the crab cake Benedict! It's fabulous! It's a little pricey but so is ocean front real estate! Enjoy!

We stopped in for breakfast and couldnt be happier! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. But the best part was the service. Wow! Everyone was SO friendly and laid back. What a little gem!

Super cute joint right across from the beach. Very affordable and the staffers were very attentive and sweet. Will be coming back for sure!

Ate here 4 years ago, I still remember the food was really good and the view is amazing. I sat outside with the view of the ocean and had a nice breakfast. I like that their menu has advertisements of local businesses. I remember I went to eat here with my then boyfriend and I flipped the menu and his dad's face was staring back at me haha! We still have a good laugh about it. Overall it's a nice little spot and good for morning dates too!

Such a shame. This place is right across from the beach! I would give this place no stars, but the food was good so I have to give it something. I don't know what was worse, waiting 45 minutes for our food or sweltering inside while we waited. I know Florida is hot, so maybe the AC just couldn't keep up, but ceiling fans just aren't going to cut it! Again, my stars are for the food because it really was good, especially the grits, but customer service could have been much better. I mean, we waited 45 minutes for our food, and nothing was done to make up for it. Also, our waitress disappeared after taking our order leaving us to ask other servers for refills on coffee, etc. It was our last day on vacation...overall, very upsetting experience.

A dreamy little dive with some great owners and an awesome view of the water. Their coffee is nothing fancy, but it's really good! I had a cappuccino. Their breakfast is also good. I had a quiche. It was delicious. Again, this place is not fancy. It's an affordable dive, with the dreamy vibe of Flagler Beach. If you're visiting Flagler, make sure to to stop by. This is a staple of this tiny beach town.

Great food, wonderful coffee, really lovely people - it's a family-like atmosphere with the most beautiful view in the world of the Atlantic Ocean and clean sandy-pink beach. If you get there at the right time, dolphins swim by regularly but I missed them this visit by 15 minutes - argh. For those who enjoy eggs benedict - this restaurant is created for you - with a new one to try 6 days of the week. My personal favorite is Crab Cakes benedict, somehow the poached egg is, dare I say this, glamorous. It looks like movie food. Fun touches are sitting outside on the deck listening to the surf or when you're indoors, the restaurant features local artists work & a tasty local hot sauce - Bob's hot sauce. Easy to miss, impossible to forget, can't wait to return!

Food was amazing. The only thing that stopped this from being a five star was the clenliness of the staff themselves.

Best place on the water. Grab an awesome breakfast. ...a mimosa. ...and watch dolphins! A must see...owner and staff are super friendly.

A little be of food heaven on pristine Flagler Beach. The Mahi Mahi wraps are divine! Crab cakes are full of flavor and compete with the best. Island music and relaxed ambiance make for a chillaxed breakfast dinning experience. Breaking ocean waves complete the view.

This was our 4th morning eating breakfast in Palm Coast/Flagler Beach and I wish we had gone to Java joint first! I had the crab cake Benedict and it was amazing! The hash browns were also very crispy, which some places struggle with. You also have to have a good cup of coffee and the Java Joint delivered with abundant refills. The view of the ocean is very relaxing and makes it an excellent place to have a tasty meal to start the day.

On February 16, we stopped at the Java Joint on the way to Orlando Airport. We needed to drop a couple from our group for their flight. We emphasized we had little time, and consequently, needed four egg sandwiches to go. After a 45 minute wait from our time of arrival, the four sandwiches arrived. The sandwiches were acceptable, but the service was record setting slow. If the restaurant had been packed, the slow service would have been more understandable. However, the restaurant had light traffic during our visit. Our group would have appreciated being told that the Java Joint takes forever to produce four egg sandwiches. If told that, we would have moved on and been much happier.

Was in town for the day and stopped by for some breakfast. I had the crab cake Benedict and it was very flavorful and meaty. Definitely will come back in the near future.

Super chill atmosphere and friendly/attentive crew. The food was also great, my husband had the crab Benedict and I had two eggs with their tasty home fries. I'm usually not a huge "out-to-breakfast" person, but I was truly impressed! Plus, the ocean view is perfect:) kudos

Great ocean view. Great service. Breakfast: Delicious & inexpensive. *Well trained dogs on a leash allowed in the outside sitting area.

They've got great Eggs Benedict and their Mimosas are more champagne than orange juice, as they should be!! Staff was pleasant, friendly and attentive. The location is perfect with a close view of the beach. I will definitely return again when I'm in the area.

Went here with my family for breakfast this morning and loved everything! I had the breakfast quesadilla which was big enough for two. My fiancé had the egg and cheese wrap which was also huge, my father had the pancakes - again huge so only need to order 1. The staff was great, view was breathtaking and overall the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped in a few times when in town. Can't speak for the food but the coffee is excellent. A nice view of the beach if eating in or a quick walk across A1A to the beach itself.

Awesome view to sit out on the deck and have breakfast looking at the ocean. We had super good and healthy omlettes- they have a mahi-mahi omlette! AND tons of choices to go in there.... the hash browns are yucky- frozen Ore-ida ???? The bread super healthy- the service great. We went back for lunch, The Hawiian wrap was great- the mahi mahi sandwich rocked. The potato salad- SKIP it- cold mashed potatoes - old no taste.

Took five friends here on Saturday. Waited about 35 minutes for 5 coffees and toasted bagels. Coffee was dishwater. Had to ask frequently for the bill. We left disgusted. Don't bother.

I'm super happy to have found this amazing coffee shop near my house. I've been to coffee shops around the world, and I have to say this is one of my favorites. Where else can you drink great coffee or cappucino and have an unobstructed view of the ocean? Not many places my friends. At least not enough in America. The Java Joint rocks. Free wifi. Great food - yummy breakfasts and lunch...mimosas...need I say more? The staff are super friendly and become family after a few visits. I'm freelance so I use the coffee shop as my office sometimes and I love giving them all the business I can. They are open daily till 4pm and are open late on full moon nights. I heart Java Joint!!

Outstanding! You must stop here. The coffee drinks are delicious (I sugest the White Russian Latte) and the menu is so good, you're going to find yourself unable to choose!

  • Frank E.

I'm a little shocked that this place gets such high marks from other reviewers. Coffee is barely average. We only got one refill offered during our breakfast. I think if you bill yourself as a coffee house, your coffee should stand up to that billing. Here it does not. Plain old industrial tasting coffee. I did not sample any of their espresso drinks. Perhaps they are better. Breakfast is good - not great. Somewhat limited selection. Servers are pleasant and friendly. That goes an long way. On the big plus side, if you want to have breakfast or lunch and be on the Atlantic - this place has that. It sits right on A1A - 20 miles north of Daytona Beach and overlooks the ocean. Flagler beach is a nice little town. But so far, great coffee seems to be out of season.

Place is fabulous, staff wonderful. I eat here when visiting my mom and have never had a bad meal, shrimp tacos and Cuban sandwich great. Definitely a nice place to sit, eat, stare at the ocean or go online.

The food is really good and the view is amazing. The only place in Flagler/Palm Coast beach side that does not over charge and keeps the atmosphere relaxed. The deck is doggie friendly and we love that. New Item on the menu is Gyro!

Very good service, friendly staff and plenty of them. Lots of outdoor seating. Breakfast burritos were excellent. Have them add bacon to it and even better. French toast and coffee very good as well. Lunch menu also looked great.

My wife and I eat there at least once a week. We always get an egg white omlette with veggies! The omletes are always cooked to perfection and are great. The staff is always great and friendly. The place is amazing in that you always feel like home when you ar ethere with the magnificent view of the ocean. I recently ran into two of the waitresses in a local gym. They were nice as always! Staff like these two women are great for any restaurant. In short I love Java Joint!

We used to go at least twice a month but lately not much so we stopped in for breakfast this Sunday morning. Jason was very nice but service was unusually slow. Even for this place which has always been on the slower side. Food took about 40 minutes. Wife's Eggs Benedict were room temp. One of her two English muffins wasn't toasted. Her eggs were over cooked, no runny stuff. My order came without my home fries. Toast hardly had butter. Second coffee came after 10 minutes. We had to go in to find the check. Owners should have come round to inquire how it went but they can't be bothered it seems. 10-5-14 Update Yep. Still super slow but food is better this time. New owners now. Food took about 50 minutes this time

  • Kimberly N.

Beautiful views, great food and friendly service, however my husband and I waited over 56 minutes for breakfast. I had a simple two egg plate with toast and grits and he had a Mexican breakfast burrito. Like I said, the food is absolutely amazing and Mimosas are on point but it is not worth the wait. I come to Flagler Beach every Memorial Weekend and every year I give it another shot and every year I am disappointed. If they can get the ticket times whittled down this would be a great spot but they are not there now.
